The General Library is fully automated. All students are members of the college library. The library has two sections (a) Reference (b) General.
The reference and the general sections of the library are under the charge of the librarian.
Regulation Regarding the Reference Library
Book of reference, illustrated and rare books and collections shall not be lent out to students.
- Reference books may be lent for a week to the members of the teaching staff with the permission of the principal.
Regulations Regarding General Library
The general library will be open from 9.00 am to 4.00 on all working days.
- A student is permitted to borrow only one book at a time from the general library.
Application for book should be deposited by the student in the box kept for the purpose before 12.30 pm on the day on which books are to be issued.
Book will be issued between 12.30 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. according to the following schedule
I D.C – Wednesday
II D.C – Tuesday
III D.C – All days
M.A. – All days
Books issued to the students shall not be retained for more than two weeks. If the due date falls on a holiday, the book must be returned on the next working day.
Failure to return the book on the date entails a fine of 10 Ps. Per day.
Marking on books with ink or pencil, spoiling or causing damage to the binding and underlining of passages, writing remarks or tearing off pages, pictures ect. Are punishable.If the books belonging to a set or series are lost or damaged and a new volume is not separately available the borrower shall be required to replace the whole set.The defaced book set will be given to the borrower after its replacement.Before leaving the counter, the borrower shall examine the book and point out defects to the librarian and have these defects noted in the book and initialed by the librarian. Otherwise the borrower will be help responsible for any damage or mutilation observed.It shall be the duty of the librarian to examine the books returned by the borrower and take immediate action in all cases of mutilation or damage.
Transfer or sub lending of books is strictly prohibited.
Every month the librarian will send the list of students who have incurred library fines during that month to the principal through the Administrative Assistant.
Failure to pay library fines or failure to return the books within the due data entails loss of privilege to borrow books from the library till the dues are cleared.
Any book may be recalled at any time even if the period of loan has not been completed.
News papers and periodicals kept on the table shall not be removed from the reading room or from the place allotted each.
- Strict silence should be observed in the reading room.
- Any loss or damages will have to be compensated by the person responsible for it.
- Personal properties must be kept outside before entering the reading room.
- Readers shall vacate their seats 10 minutes before closing time
- In all matters regarding the library and reading room the decision of the principal shall be final.
