The Department of History was established in 1958 and it offers degree courses with Political Science and Economics as complementary subjects. Diffusing knowledge in the history of the world and our nation in general by giving more emphasis on political and cultural changes taking place. The history department has tried to transform girls into noble women proud of their history and culture. The Department strives to provide novel ideas about various historians and their writings. Moreover, students are also motivated to become good historians, develop leadership qualities feelings of nationalism and patriotism, and mold citizens aware of their rights and duties. Every year the final year students are taken to historically important places for historical visits. A Human Rights Club is formed by the Department with the cooperation of the State Human Rights Commission and it undertakes so many activities in the college to get first-hand knowledge to the students.
