The Department of Economics is a recognized Research Centre of the affiliating university offering PhD Programme. Facilities are available for both full-time and part-time research.
Applications in the prescribed form are invited by the University of Kerala twice a year, in June and December.
Only candidates who have qualified in the Entrance Test conducted by the University of Kerala or the National Eligibility Test conducted by UGC/CSIR or GATE or who possess M. Phil Degree in addition to Master’s Degree or equivalent with not less than 55% marks will be considered eligible to apply for registration for PhD (SC/ST, 45% marks in Science, 40% marks in Arts and Commerce)
5% marks relaxation for the candidates with minimum 10 years of teaching experience. Teachers with 7 years of teaching experience are exempted from the Entrance Test. The maximum number of candidates permitted to work under a research guide in the college is four for Assistant Professors, six for Associate Professors and eight for Professors. Teachers are allowed to do part-time research. Candidates shall send their applications to the Registrar, University of Kerala through the college.
