There will be about 200 working days in an academic year and 75% attendance is necessary for promotion to the next higher class and for appearing for
University examinations.
Students are not permitted to absent themselves from classes without leave. Leave application endorsed by parent shall be submitted to the Principal duly recommended by the group tutor/ Head of the Department. Absence during a period shall be treated as absence for a session, either forenoon or afternoon and absence for two periods during two sessions, as absence for the whole day. Application for leave in the prescribed form (see Appendix B) for a single period may be made to the teacher during a change of class during the hour. Leave application for one day or not exceeding three days may be submitted to the Principal through the group tutor and the period exceeding three days should be supported by a letter from the guardian.
Absence of a student without leave for more than 15 consecutive working days will entail removal of her name from the rolls. Those who absent themselves from test papers/terminal examinations shall be liable to disciplinary action. Statements of monthly/termly attendance will be published and intimated to the parent/guardian. Complaints if any, on thy part of the student may be submitted to the principal in writing.
