Department of Commerce, N.S.S College for Women, Neeramankara, was established in the year 1980 with a Pre-Degree course. Later in 1993, the department was upgraded by starting a B.Com Degree course with Taxation Law and Practice as an optional subject. The aim of the department is to impart knowledge to the students in various branches of learning and mold them into women of character and culture. Department of Commerce, since its inception, has had a substantial role in achieving the mission and goal of the college i.e. to empower women through education. In order to equip students required skills for future placement, the department used to offer different courses and internship programs along with the curriculum of the University. The department also bagged first and second positions in several years contentiously in University Examination results.
